How do you wash a whole cushion from the couch?

My 5-year old brother has problems and is always wetting his pants when he falls asleep because he drinks to much milk and juice. So this time, he fell asleep on the couch and wet hiself. The urine went through the cover of the cushion and all the way down to the other side of the cushion, so it’s on both sides. My question is, How are you supposed clean the cover and the inside of the cushion?

If you can pull the foam cushion out of the cover, I would do that, take it outside and squeeze soap through it by soaking it with soapy water and stepping on it to force the soapy water through the entire foam cushion. To rinse it, you will have to do the same thing, over and over again until the soap is all gone. Its going to take time, but should work. I suggest something like Simple Green, Pine Sol, Lestoil, Lysol. As far as the cover, an upholsterly cleaner should work. Scrub both the outside and turn it inside out and scrub the inside. If you can’t take the cushion out, go and get some Natures Miracle at a good Pet Store. Pour this full strength onto the stain, both sides and then if you can, get an injection needle that you use for injecting turkeys with flavorings and inject the Natures Miracle into the foam cushion. You have to really soak it and all of the urine needs to be saturated with this product for it to work. You are going to be without your couch cushion for several days, but it should work. I would go and get those pads that they use for incontinent and bedridden people and make him sit on those until he learns to control his bladder. Some kids just have a problem with that.
