Allergy HELP!!!!?

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

i have really bad allergies, i guess..here’s the deal…i wake up every morning and literally sneeze for 10-20 minutes straight… my eyes are sore and gross…it goes away after about 3 hrs of being awake…then i’m pretty much ok for the day…until i wake up the next morning!!!! what’s going on? how can i fix/manage this?!

If you are waking up with bad symptoms (and OK for the rest of the day), then it sounds like the thing(s) you are allergic to are in your bedroom - it might be dust mites in the bed linens. I would put allergy covers over your mattress and pillows and wash your sheets in hot water at least once a week. You might want to try an air purifier/filter that you can buy at Target, Walmart, etc, to filter the air. My allergies are always worse in the morning too because I am allergic to dust and dust mites!

Zyrtec works better than Claritin or Singulair, but the best medicines are nasal sprays (Flonase, Nasonex, Rhinocort) and plain old Benadryl. Since Benadryl makes you sleepy, you might want to take that at night before you go to bed and try the nasal sprays in the morning. (Benadryl is OTC, of course, but the nasal sprays require a prescription.) There is also an OTC nasal rinse, where you flush salt water through your nose and sinuses to remove allergens.

You need to be on allergy meds. Everyday. You can’t just take them once in awhile like ibuprofen. Try some over the counter drugs like Claritin or Zyrtec. Take it at night before you go to sleep. It does take a couple of days or so for it to get into your system and start working. Try changing out your pillow and washing all bedding in hot water too.
Check with a doctor if OTC drugs don’t work.

Try claritin D or Zyrtec D. And give it a couple of weeks to work. Zyrtec D is the only thing that works for my daughter

Also try a nasel spray. Nasonex, Nasacort and Flonase are ones that we have used. sometimes you get better relief from a spray.

Can i get a job at 14 years old?

Friday, June 27th, 2008

I was hoping to work at Target or a store like that. I live in NJ. does anyone know if I can or any places that I can?

I would ask target if you can work there. I know you cant be a cashier your under 16. Im sure they have other positions there, go in and apply also ask what positions they have. Or try a supermarket you could be a bagger or work in groceries the only thing with groceries your not allowed to handle the garbage diposable emptier your under 18 for that. You could also mow laws for neighbors.

——

Yes you are allowed to get a job at 14 years old. You have to obtain a school work permit and are subject to special hours not to exceed more than 20 a week, and or after 9 pm at night.

In some states, for example New Jersey, permits are only required for minors 14 and 15 years old, while others such as Massachusetts require, at least in theory, work permits for all minors up until they turn 18 years of age. In states that require permits for 16 and 17 year olds, enforcement is not always strict, although sometimes it is. Permits are usually issued through the school system the minor attends, and typically at a minimum, enrollment in high school with regular attendance (no chronic absenteeism, tardiness, or truancy) is required as a condition for obtaining the permit. Some states such as New York and Indiana require high school students with part time jobs to maintain a certain grade point average. Minors who are working are usually restricted in the number of hours each day or week they are permitted to work as well as the types of jobs they may hold.

And Mr. Green Party at the bottom, I started working at 14 so it’s possible.

Your best bet is to go ask the places your interested in at what age they start hiring. Usually, places have an age minimum of 16, but there are some places where you can get a work permit at 14.

Sometimes on limewire when i search the same thing twice i get different results. Why is that?

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

When i use limewire, i sometimes search something and get a list of results, then i come back later and search the EXACT same thing and it doesn’t give me the same results. Anyone know why?

As said before it is always being updated but it also depends who has their computer switched on at any one time. As this is a peer to peer file sharing site, you will only see the files on any computers that are connected to the web. If the computers are awitched off or disconnected from the web you will not be able to see their shared folders

What is monoculture, and how has modern agriculture encouraged its spread?

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Monoculture is, as was mentioned, the growing of a single crop like a hectare of corn, or wheat, or a bluegrass lawn, etc. Modern agriculture though is starting to stress the importance of companion planting and crop rotation as a way to improve/ maintain the soil and cut down on pest and disease that is more prevalent in continuous monoculture. Amer-Indian tribes discovered long ago that companion planting “The Three Sisters” (maize, beans, and squash) created a better growing environment for the crops and provided a better balance of nutrients and availability of food during the season. Rotation and resting fields goes far back into antiquity and references are found in the earliest books of the Bible as law, meaning that the concept existed well before it’s codification. There are more references that are found throughout history from all the first civilizations and their writings. It seems it was kind of lost in the rush to science and kind of rediscovered as having a valid basis in that (our) sciences. Will wonders never cease.

Monoculture is the practic eof planting the same species of crop on the same land year after year, or the planting of the same species of crop in a local.

Modern farm equipment, farm policy by governments, world markets and ag economics on a local level has made specialization easier, more profitable or even necessary in order to stay in business.

Whats the low-down with making cds that will play in a car?

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

So I’m trying to make a cd that will play in a car, except i can’t get it to work. I used sonic record, and chose the option
“make a cd for a car.” If i’m not mistake, what that does is finalize the disc, putting a code that will allow the cd to play in a car. What is it that stops a cd from playing in a car? How can i get it to work?

ok i Ive been researcihng it, and so far i’ve heard that it depends on the type of disc-brand and if its cdr or cdrw. Then ive heard it depends on the file type-mp3, mp4, ect. Then i heard it depends on the cars stereo. Help! Does anyone actually know?

There’s two things that may be happening.

One is that your CD player in your car is not capable of playing burned CDs. That shouldn’t happen since most stereos today can play burned CDs. Regardless, if that were to happen you would have to install a new head unit (stereo/CD player)

The other thing that may be happening is that you are not burning the songs in the correct format, should be mp3 for most cars, or you are not using a CD-R. CD-R means that you can write on the disc, but can not write on it again. CD-RW is the type that can be written on over and over again.

To fix this, get a blank CD-R disc and put it in the cd drive on your computer. Load software and select the songs. When selecting songs, make sure the file extension is .mp3. Choose the songs you want, usually about 12-15 depending on size. Then burn, and once it is done go test it out.

If that doesn’t work, try using windows media player’s burn option. If the files aren’t .mp3 it will convert them for you.

Finally if that does not work, you may need a new stereo. Which will between $80-$100 plus instillation if you don’t do it yourself.

there is no code that stops or enables a cd from playing in the car. it usually does it by itself. its just like any other disc, it works in anything that plays discs. i suggest researching some better software for burning cd’s.

If you shower everyday and wash your hair…?

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Hi All,

If you don’t get to shower and wash your hair. Do you feel dirty? I do even if I’m not. I’m just used to showering every morning, plus it wakes me up at 6:20 am. I have greasy hair as well so I have to wash it. It’s always been greasy since I was abotu 15 and I’m now 30.

Plus I have to put on my make-up because I feel completely naked w/out. I don’t wear much, but I love to have a bit of color :)

I shower every day and wash my hair as do my family. I also wear makeup everyday I feel naked without it.

…………

I alternate between having a bath and shower every morning. It’s not best to wash your hair every day, as it washes away nutrients in your hair that can leave it lifeless.
Your hair adapts to how often you wash your hair. I deliberately wash it every other day, and the result is that it only goes greasy on the day I’m due to wash it. My boyfriend, on the other hand, washes his every day and whenever I’ve slept round it looks really greasy in the morning. I’ve found washing it every other day is ideal for sleepovers, ‘cos my hair looks fine and I don’t have to go home and wash it.
You were a teenager when it started and naturally every teenager’s hair is greasy. However, this led to you washing it every day and your hair has adapted to being washed every day. You can break the cycle, but unfortunately it’ll take many days of greasy hair before your hair adapts. However, it is worth it. And you don’t have to feel dirty - I have a bath instead.
As for makeup… Well… I’m exactly the same. I think that’s just a girl thing :)

I always thought it was just me…but I shower and i feel clean but the moment i go to the bathroom to pee or poop (he he) I feel dirty…or if I sweat a little i feel dirty. I also can’t just take a shower and not wash my hair cause then I feel dirty on top…or more or less dirty all over I have to shower and shampoo every inch of my body. It’s not suppose to be good to wash your hair everyday but it’s the only way i feel clean.

………..

Im the same, except that i get up at 6:00 and i still dont have time to shower, so i have to shower at night, and even though i’ve heard that its not good for your hair i still shampoo and condition it everyday. i guess its just what i do to feel clean. :)

………

Yeah! I’m the exact same as well!
I can’t leave the house without my hair being washed and straightened and a load of make-up on me even if its only to get something out of the car!

Dallas DWI Lawyers

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

All states have drunk driving laws that say you are legally intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) of .08 or higher. A Dallas DWI lawyer will explain how some states such as New York will even charge you with being impaired if your BAC is less than .08. A DWI (Driving While Intoxicated) arrest can result in your losing your driver’s license. In fact, most states automatically start proceedings to suspend a person’s driver’s license immediately after an arrest for suspected DWI. While the time period varies from state to state, you will lose your license if you do not request a hearing within a specific number of days. This is why it is so important that you contact a Dallas DWI attorney immediately after your arrest.

You have one opportunity to keep your driver’s license from being suspended. After that, it is difficult to get your license back regardless of the need or circumstances and despite the fact that a court of law may find you innocent. Professional representation can ensure that you receive a fair trial and that your rights are upheld. Having the best Dallas DWI lawyers on your case make a big difference with regards to having to cope with the stresses and consequences of this charge or getting the charges dismissed.

Try Textbook Rentals

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

The book rental program has had much success since it was first introduced to most educators and students. There are many options of renting a college textbook—by purchasing online and getting the physical copy of the book; by downloading a copy like ebook and there are also universities who rent out their textbooks.

As numerous as these textbooks are, there are equally numerous advantages to renting books as compared to purchasing them. The biggest savings that a student could get could be as high as 75% as compared to new textbooks. Most college books are now priced at $100 or so. A bookstore (or an online shop) could rent it for students for only $25. The student also has the option to keep the rented textbook if he wants to. College book rental has really gone a long way from its conception.

Initially, textbook rental programs were funded by some states and some federal resources but now, more and more people are participating into this beneficial program. There are also private businesses that are targeting the student market by renting out college textbooks. In fact, the first ever online private textbook rental shop was the idea of several university graduates. With the growth of a program such as this, more and more businesses would flourish and money would be saved by many parents and college students.

Getting Stainless Steel Nerf Bars

Saturday, June 21st, 2008

If you have a truck, you’d most likely want to add some accessories to it. Actually, there are a lot of truck accessories that are sold in the market. All of them have their own useful features and they also help in enhancing the aesthetic appeal of your truck. They have a lot of practical values as well. Making a careful choice will help you find the best truck accessories that will be useful to you and your business. One of the many truck accessories that you should have are truck nerf bars.

There are actually all sorts of nerf bars that you can find in online and offline stores. There are nerf bars with black acrylic finish. You’d also find chrome plated nerf bars and stainless steel nerf bars. Nerf bars that are stainless are without doubt, the best in quality. However, you should be careful when purchasing stainless nerf bars. You need to take your time when purchasing stainless nerf bars to avoid fakes. Due to unstable nickel prices, stainless steel materials fluctuate and are often quite high. So, you need to find stores that are able to offer the most affordable prices and those that are genuine.

When looking for stainless steel nerf bars, look for highly buffed steel that would give brilliant mirror appearance. They should be covered with a warranty. Stainless nerf bars are usually non-pitting and resistant to corrosion so you are ensured of long years of use.

I’m doing my first triathlon this weekend. Any good pointers?

Saturday, June 14th, 2008

First of all, congrats on deciding to take up triathlons! Some advice I have gathered from my parents last few years of triathlon competition (I’ve never done one since I am only 15):

Be sure to make a list the day before the race of everything that you will need for pre-race (like a jacket and pants if it starts early), during the race (obvious things like a bike, water bottles, watch, swim cap, wetsuit if you have one, helmet, biking and running shoes, etc., as well as stuff like food you can carry in the back pockets on your bike jersey to eat on the road and dry socks for after the swim), post-race (like food, sports drinks and water, and dry clothes), and during transitions (such as a bucket and towel to wash your feet after the swim, marker so you can find your things, small stool for changing shoes if you want, and maybe an encouraging sign or note to yourself, lol). This will help take away some of the stress of race day, and also allow you to add more items to the list as you remember them.

During the race, remember hydration and nutrition, especially if it is a longer tri. The bike leg is the most important in terms of food and water, so don’t neglect it, and do some quick research to find out what to pack for the ride (if nothing else, some packets of energy goo, such as Gu or Hammer brand, and energy bars, such as Clif brand, as long as you try them before the race to ensure that you can stomach them). Don’t forget to drink plenty of water for 1-2 days before and after the race to stay hydrated, and eat high-carb meals like pasta and plenty of bananas to avoid muscle cramps the day before the race.

Practice your transitions a few times, even if you feel weird doing it out of the context of the race. It will help immensely by giving you confidence that you can do it with speed and relative ease!

Other than that, have a great race and good luck! Enjoy it, and whenever you feel ready to stop, think of the great feeling of accomplishment (not to mention - most likely - a free massage and free food after the race!) you will have when you finish. Your first tri should be more about the experience and the completion than the competition, so enjoy it. Hope your training will pay off! =)
